A high school senior in California attended prom with her grandfather after her original plans for the night fell through.

Kaylah Bell, 17, a student at Lancaster High School, later shared photos from the evening on social media. In the images, she is seen posing with her grandfather, Alvin Hackett, who dressed to match her outfit.
Bell said she had initially planned to go to prom with someone else, but those arrangements did not work out.

Instead of missing the event, she asked her grandfather to step in. He agreed and put together an outfit that complemented her look, wearing a blue pinstripe suit with a pink tie and matching pocket square.
Bell wore a patterned gown in pink, purple, and blue, along with a cape inspired by historical designs.

The two attended the event together and took photos before and during the night.
Those images were later shared online, where they received widespread attention. Many comments focused on the coordination between their outfits, as well as Hackett’s overall style.

Bell said the reaction at prom was similar, with classmates pointing out the pair and commenting on their appearance.
Hackett, a church pastor, is known within the family for dressing with attention to detail. Bell said he often coordinates outfits with her grandmother for church and other occasions.
Bell is expected to attend Azusa Pacific University in the fall.
